About
I'm Frank Wiedemann, founder of Wiedemann Embedded. I develop embedded systems from the hardware through the firmware to the software layered on top, all from one hand, with the standard of quality I bring from industries like defense and medical technology.
Background
I trained as an electronics technician for devices and systems at Airbus Defence and Space, then went on to study electrical and information engineering (B.Eng., Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences), followed directly by a Master's in Electrical Engineering and Embedded Systems. After several years as an embedded software developer at Konzept Informationssysteme GmbH, I took the step into self-employment in 2025 with Wiedemann Embedded.
Industries & Experience
My projects so far have spanned mobility, defense, medical technology, communications, energy technology, and sensor technology.
Technical Focus
- Programming languages: C, C++, C#, VHDL, Python, Java, MATLAB, Assembler
- Data communication: CANOpen, CAN J1939, Ethernet, RS232/422/485, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, I2C, SPI
- Hardware: STM32, ATmega, PIC, ARM, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone
- Tools: Eclipse, Git, CMake, Simulink, oscilloscope, logic analyzer
- Standards: ISO 26262, IEC 61508
How I Work
Because I develop the hardware, firmware, and the software layered on top of it myself, nothing gets lost in handoffs, everything stays in one hand from the first idea to the finished system. I prefer working remotely, but I'm always open to on-site work when needed. What matters to me most in any collaboration is direct, open communication.
